U rating stands for universal.

If it is classified as a U, the film must be

- suitable for 5 years +
- have a possitive message to children
- offer reassuring counterbalances to threats
- suitable for children to view alone
- include no bad language or discrimination
- have no drugs
- have no sexual content
- have a big no emphasis on realistic weapons
